Founding Team · Azimuth Running LLC
Azimuth Running is bringing the most grueling endurance event in the state to the streets of Mineral Wells — The Wellness Capital of Texas. To build an event this demanding, we need a team that is just as relentless.
The Backyard of Crazy is a Last One Standing ultra-marathon that will test the absolute limits of the human spirit. Every hour, on the hour, runners complete a 4.167-mile loop. The last person standing wins.
We are currently casting the founding members of our Core Committee. If you understand the discipline of the long game, thrive in high-energy environments, and want to help build a legacy endurance event from the ground up — we have a seat for you.
Open Positions
You are the general of the ground forces. You will recruit, schedule, and manage the volunteers needed to run a 24+ hour event. From managing the corral check-in chute to overseeing the Tent Row aid stations, you keep the operation moving while the runners are on the course.
You are the ultimate authority on athlete well-being. We are looking for individuals with EMT, nursing, or wilderness first-aid experience. You will oversee the medical tent, monitor runners for exhaustion, and hold the absolute authority to medically pull an athlete for their own safety.
You are the face of our community partnerships. You will take our established sponsorship packages to local businesses, securing partners who want to actively support athlete recovery in the Wellness Capital of Texas. You will track deliverables, collect logos, and ensure our sponsors get maximum visibility.
You thrive in the 3:00 AM hours. You own the physical footprint of the race. You will execute the setup of the Start/Finish corral behind the City Gym, coordinate the placement of directional signage along Hood Road and Cross Post, manage the delivery of race assets, and oversee the hourly timing bell.
You are the financial anchor of the organization. You will manage the Azimuth LLC operating account, track incoming sponsorship funds, monitor registration payouts, and maintain the operational budget for race assets. Upon joining, you will be handed a comprehensive, fully documented operational folder to bring you up to speed instantly so you can take the reins.
This is not a volunteer gig. Core Committee members are the founding crew that brings this brand to life — and we treat it that way.
